Langley Skating Club’s Junior Academy (JA) Program is by invitation only. Invitation is based on the Director of Skating’s assessment of competent skating skills and a positive work ethic. Most JA skaters are typically drawn from our CanSkate Program.
Langley Skating Club’s JA Program requires skaters to train in a group lesson format, a minimum of two days or more per week. The Junior sessions can occasionally be used to supplement more training time, with approval by the Director of Skating. The JA Program offers a Team Coaching environment and 100% coach-directed time.
Skaters continue to learn fundamental skills through our advanced CanSkate Program, Stage 5 and 6. Skaters also participate in off-ice classes, which include but are not limited to flexibility training and cardiovascular training.
